Economics and Management Science are the most popular majors of UC San Diego graduates who go to business school. The Rady School of Management on campus offers an accounting minor, business minor and an entrepreneurship and innovation minor.
The Basement is 3,000 square feet of work and incubation space dedicated to undergraduate entrepreneurs. Last quarter $80,000 was raised by 21 student startup teams with active businesses ranging from rocket engines to DNA home testing.
For the third year in a row, the mystartupXX accelerator program, a UC San Diego-wide program started as a collaboration of the California Institute for Innovation and Development at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego and the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering in 2012, has been chosen as one of the winners of the national Growth Accelerator Fund competition and recipient of a $50,000 award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
